Wallace Reid | ||
Wallace Reid is one of the more tragic figures in Hollywood history. An actor since the early days, he became the preeminent "boy next door," clean-cut and All-American. Unfortunately his freshly-scrubbed public image hid a darker private one, that of a morphine addict. After his premature death at a sanitarium to try to "kick the habit," his wife, actress Dorothy Davenport Reid, obtained special permission to make a film that chronicled the dangers of drug addiction, Human Wreckage. |
