Gloria Swanson

Formerly the home of razor-blade millionaire King C. Gillette, this magnificent showplace at 904 North Crescent Drive was one of the largest homes in Beverly Hills, measuring 115 feet wide and 100 feet deep.

This Southern Californa adaptation of the Italian Renaissance style boasted 22 rooms, 5 baths, one automatic electric elevator, and a thousand-foot square terrace overlooking sweeping lawns and full-grown palms and acacias.

Every inch the star in person, Gloria's home reflected her persona with an enormous reception room draped in peacock silk, living and dining rooms with tapestries and paintings, a breakfast room of cream and gold, and a black marble bathroom with a golden tub next to her bedroom.
